The soul knew everything before it was born. Past, present and future lie on the same line. The question is not whether the future exists — but whether we have the power to remember it.

After wandering through the celestial realms, our soul entered the world of Ideas — the world of absolute knowledge. Then came the event of our physical birth — the moment the soul entered the body.
This event was the cause of forgetting. The soul began to be fed by information from daily life — which is nothing more than copies of the Ideas.
The misfortune, according to Plato, is not the forgetting itself. It is the fact that we are not aware of it. We believe that what we see around us is the true reality — when in fact it is merely shadows of the Ideas the soul already knows.

The soul wanders through celestial realms and enters the world of Ideas — the world of absolute and unchanging knowledge. There it knows past, present and future as one indivisible whole.

The forgetting
Entry into the body marks the moment of forgetting. The soul becomes “imprisoned” in the body and begins to be fed by the senses — copies of the Ideas that we mistake for reality.

The search
The human seeks answers in the material world, while the answers already lie within — in the unconscious that preserves the soul’s knowledge. Some perceive this knowledge as intuition, others as dreams, others as déjà vu.

Has Experience
Jung’s greatest contribution to psychology was the concept of the collective unconscious — a world older than consciousness, richer and deeper.
Human experience, according to Jung, is recorded in the unconscious. The unconscious is older than the conscious mind. Therefore the human soul has experience — has knowledge — has mantic abilities.
And so the human stands at that point where they believe in divination but cannot explain it with reason — for reason belongs to the conscious mind, while divination belongs to the unconscious.
